Ms. Marilyn Imogene Helton's Obituary
Ms. Marilyn Imogene Helton, age 86 of Pleasant View, Tennessee passed away on Sunday January 8, 2023. She was born on January 31, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Benjamin and Goldna Gibbs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Patricia Smith. She is survived by her brother Phillip Wayne Gibbs (Lillian), children Lynn Ellen Payne, Tricia Darlene Carlisle, Bruce Allen Roberts (Rebecca), and Randy Neal Roberts (Penny), grandchildren Shellie Vickers, Tamela Brewington, Wesley Roberts, and Randall Roberts, seven great-grandchildren, special cousin Willie Winfrey, and a host of extended family and friends.
Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cared deeply for her family and always wanted the best for them. She loved on her family in many ways, but one of the biggest ways she showed her love was through food. She was known for her down home southern cooking, and her family remembers with great fondness her delicious scratch-made biscuits and Thanksgiving cornbread dressing. Marilyn was also an avid knitter and reader of mystery and romance books. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.
