Mr. Marion Bryant Cook's Obituary
Marion Bryant Cook, age 85, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away in the early morning hours on Monday, October 08, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Mary Bryant Cook; his wife of 63 years, Stella Bell Birdwell Cook; one brother, Robert Cook and one grandson, Jagger Cook. He is survived by three sons, Richard Cook (Theresa), Barry Cook (Ellie), Brian Cook (Krista); two daughters, Vicki Harper (John), Amanda Hope Cook (Ann); sisters, JoAnn Burgett, Faye Bales (Chuck), Sandra Cox (Bobby); one brother, Wayne (Dot) Cook, sister in-law, Dorothy Cook. Eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren. Marion was an artist in the Nashville community for 65 years. He enjoyed using oil on canvas for his paintings. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marion’s honor to the Frist Art Museum, Nashville, Tennessee in his memory or Northwood Baptist Church, Nashville, TN. Visitation for Marion will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, 37216, from 4 PM until 8 PM, and again on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 10 AM until 11 AM, at which time a Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be conducted from the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, a Nashville landmark since 1785 “Where Nashville comes to Remember”
