Mrs. Marjorie Elizabeth McDougal's Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie Elizabeth McDougal, age 86, passed away on January 20, 2016. Marjorie was born in Nashville, Tennessee on February 22, 1929 to the late H. Leslie and Mary Burnett. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is greatly missed.
Faith and family were the cornerstones of Marjorie’s life. She was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ for more than 50 years. She sacrificed everything for her family and always put others before herself. Her family was blessed with Marjorie’s amazing cooking; she cooked for weeks before the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to make a spread of food that never seemed to end. She also was an accomplished seamstress. She made shirts, dresses and other clothes for her husband, children, and grandchildren for years. She was a doting grandmother, always willing to be the babysitter and always wanting to be a part of everything that her grandkids were doing. She was strong-willed and determined, especially when advocating for her family. Marjorie attended East High School and worked for the H.G. Hill Company.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her brother, H. Leslie Burnett, Jr. She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, James McDougal; children, John McDougal (Shirley) and Patty Borsini (Jeff); grandchildren, John McDougal, Jr. (Shannon), Philip Jason McDougal (Tina), Carie Chavez (Abraham), Christina Hendricks (Kelsey), and Michael Borsini; and great-grandchildren, John McDougal, III, Kira Joselle McDougal, Joshua Chavez, Judah Chavez, Abigail Chavez, Logan Chavez, Dylan Chavez, and Georgia Bean.
The family would like to thank Marjorie’s caretaker, Angela, for all of her loving attention during this difficult time.
Marjorie’s family will receive visitors on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 3pm until 8pm and again on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 12pm until 1pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held immediately following Tuesday’s visitation, at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Y-North Garden of Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
