Mrs. Marjorie Andrews Morris' Obituary
Marjorie Andrews Morris died in her sleep December 17, 2013, in Pittsboro, North Carolina where she had lived in a tiered living facility for the past seven years. She was born in Decherd, TN on November 2, 1919 but lived most of her life in Nashville. Marjorie graduated from East High School in 1937 and was voted prettiest and most popular girl of her senior class. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond, on November 5, 1939. After starting her family with two boys, Raymond, Jr. and Robert, she completed a degree in secondary education at Peabody College in 1958 and taught third grade classes in the Nashville Public School System at Crieve Hall Elementary for over 25 years.
Marjorie was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society Daughters of American Colonists. She was a member of the Brentwood United Methodist Church and an active participant in the Robert I. Moore class.
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Raymond. She is survived by sons Raymond, Jr. of Siler City, NC and Robert of Knoxville, TN. She also has two grandsons, Seth and Daniel.
Visitation will be at the Brentwood United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 25 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Sanctuary Narthex with a memorial service following in the Chapel. The immediate family will have a graveside service that afternoon at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027.
