Ms. Marjorie Jean Reeves' Obituary
Marjorie (Margie) Reeves, age 92, went to her heavenly home to join her husband of sixty-eight years, Albert Reeves. She lived for the past 8 years at Maybelle Carter Retirement Community, Madison, TN. Formerly of Clearwater and Dunedin, Florida, she passed away on August 12, 2021. Known as one who never met a stranger, Marjorie was an active member of the Tennessee Songwriters Association and ASCAP. In the year 2001, she discovered the pleasures of short story writing.
She was the daughter of the late Helen and John Meadows of Clearwater, Florida, and was educated in Clearwater schools before attending Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. After marriage in 1951 she resided in Dunedin, Florida before moving with her husband and children to Nashville, TN in 1970. She and her family were members of Donelson Heights United Methodist Church in Donelson, TN. Mrs. Reeves served as an American Red Cross volunteer in Nashville for six years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Dale) Richardson, Bethpage, TN and Janet Reeves, Pembroke Pines, Florida. Sister, June Weiglein, Hendersonville, TN.; Granddaughters, Shannon (Nathan) Damf, Charleston, SC, Meredith Richardson, Hendersonville, TN, grandson Grant Richardson (Skyler) Gallatin; nephew Bill (Marla) Weiglein, Franklin, TN, Niece Carol (Jim) Graff, Hendersonville; six great-grandchildren, five great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial is planned for Mrs. Reeves at a later time.
