Mark Curtis Aebersold's Obituary
Mark Curtis Aebersold, age 70, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, at NHC Place Sumner.
Born on October 21, 1955, in Pontiac, Michigan, Mark was the son of Bill and Mary Aebersold. He graduated from Brandon High School before attending Ferris State University, where he earned an Associate Degree in Engineering. Mark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, spending much of his military career as an aircraft mechanic. A lifelong learner, he continually expanded his knowledge through numerous professional certifications in aeronautics and aircraft maintenance. Mark's professional expertise led him to a career at Boeing and FedEx where he crafted lifelong friendships training the next generation of aeronautic engineers and mechanics.
Mark's passion for aviation extended far beyond his profession. He loved airplanes and was known for being able to identify nearly any aircraft overhead and explain exactly how it worked. When he wasn't immersed in aviation, he could often be found working on his beloved motorcycles. He had a passion for speed and an appreciation for anything built to go fast.
An avid sports fan, Mark enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams, the University of Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Tigers. During his younger years, he also enjoyed playing softball while serving in the Air Force.
Mark was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he faithfully attended services with his wife, Monica, and remained active as his health allowed. He will be remembered for his intelligence, dedication, mechanical expertise, and the passion he brought to the things he loved.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill Aebersold and Mary Larkey, and his loving wife of 21 years, Monica Aebersold.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are stepdaughter, Alyse (Aaron) West, granddaughter, Alice, sister, Julie Rauch, stepmother, Louise Aebersold, and brother-in-law, Toby (Peggie) Werrbach.
