Ms. Martha Edwards' Obituary
Martha Lynn Edwards-
Born November 11, 1955 in Nashville, Tenn to the late Benjamin P. Edwards Jr. and Gladys Aliene Collier Edwards. She went home to our Lord and Savior on April 30, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.
Martha graduated from Stratford High School in 1973, from Falls Business College in 1974 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, and worked for J.C. Penny Co. in that role. She also worked as a secretary for Cain Sloan and Dillard’s, and finally for the State of Tennessee where she retired after a 34 year career. She was a member of Riverwood Church of Christ, and a former member of Rosebank Church of Christ.
Gardening was one of her favorite hobbies, and she loved animals. She had numerous cats over the years, and her canine companion Leyna was with her until the end. Martha had a zest for life and loved her family. Always concerned that everyone she loved was doing well, she was ready with her quick wit to lift spirits at any time.
Martha, you’ll always be adored for your sweet spirit and the love you shared with anyone you knew. Rest well now with your head on God’s shoulder.
Martha is survived by sisters Nelda Clements, Joanna Qualls (Dean); nieces Christy Autry (Travis), Stephanie Bowman (Joe), Gabrielle Qualls; and nephews Keith Clements, Brian Talley (Shena), and Preston Qualls (Katelyn).
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Sylvia Talley, and nephews Rodney Clements and Brent Talley.
