Martha Ann Spear Hawkins' Obituary
Martha Ann Spear Hawkins age 85, passed away June 15, 2013. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Ben Morrison Hawkins; her parents Arch “Bud” and Mary Spear; siblings Orpha Nevins, Beulah Riley, Cecil Spear, Dumas Spear, Ester Meadows, Estilene Nevins, A.B. Spear, Lester Spear, and Elese Spear and brothers-in-law Herbert and Charles Qualls. She is survived by her son Ben Hawkins (Kathy); daughter Cynthia Ellis (Mike); grandchildren Kathina (Bobby) Hawkins Bell, Sara (Jason) Hawkins Nidiffer, Leslie (Lance) Ellis Shelby, Wes (Seta) Ellis, and Scott Ellis; great-grandchildren Clayton Bell, Ellis Shelby, and Sawyer Nidiffer; sisters-in law Elizabeth Qualls, Loretta Qualls and Jane Ray (Michael). Martha was a dedicated loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was blessed with the gift of hospitality, famous for her fried catfish and great cooking. She was a longtime and faithful member of Neely’s Bend Church of Christ. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2013, 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Costello officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of The Christian Care Villa. Memorial contributions may be made to The Christian Care Villa/Madison Senior Living or Lipscomb University.
