Mrs. Mary Joyce Beasley's Obituary
Joyce Rummage Taylor Beasley, age 90, of Gallatin passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018. She is survived by her two children, Diane Taylor Creekmore and Forrest Beasley. Their spouses (her other two children) Harold Creekmore Jr. and Cady Beasley, her five grandchildren, and her five great-grandchildren. Known for her wide smile and love of people, “Doy” never met a stranger and always ensured that you never left her table hungry- yes, miserably full was her expectation! Though her life continuously revolved around her immediate family she felt so blessed to also be constantly surrounded throughout her life by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.
Our “Doy” was heavily involved in establishing and teaching in the kindergarten program at the First Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville during the 1960’s and 70’s. She then moved on to work in the communication field at Bell South where she later retired.
“Doy” passed away surrounded by those she loved and who very much loved her. There is a visitation set for family and friends this Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 4-7 PM. A service will also be held Friday August 31 at noon, with a visitation from 11-noon planned prior to the service. All events will be at the Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, 37216
Afterwards she will quietly be laid to rest at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery beside her first true love, Eddie Taylor, who passed away in 1956 after a long battle with Leukemia. We are all sure they have a lot of catching up to do!
Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, a Nashville landmark since 1785 "Where Nashville Comes to Remember".
