My family and I have had countless neighbors come and go, having lived in Mary's neighborhood for over 50 years. She was the oldest, uniquely multi-talented, and easily the most unforgettable character we ever met.
Upon our first visit as strangers to her, she entertained us for an hour with her hospitality, infectious personality, sound judgement, and incredible life experiences. We left touched that we had met the person about whom the apostle Paul had urged us to be aware," Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." (Hebrews 13:20) we strongly believe in angels because we met one and lived across the street from her.
Especially to her children and grandchildren, we are deeply saddened by Mary's passing but confident she has brightened her heavenly home on arrival at the pearly gates and is welcoming the new strangers arriving daily to that better place—the sweet forever. Jo Ann and Ed Garrett
