Mary Jeanne Casamento's Obituary
Mary Jeanne Casamento 92 years old
On February 25, 2022, Mary Jeanne (Knapp) Casamento, was beckoned from this earth
to joyfully transition into the arms of Jesus, her Savior and Lord. Jeanne, as she was
affectionately called, was born December 5th, 1929 in Ravenna, Ohio, her hometown.
She had a strong belief in God and was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception
Church of Ravenna, Ohio. She was one of six, close, loving siblings. Eleanor (George Martin), Francis Bud, Mary Jeanne, (Russ) Walter, Richard (Fran), Peggy (Bill Lynch) and Denny (Marge). Parents Herbert and Margaret Wise Knapp.
She graduated from Ravenna High School and was a devoted bank teller in Ravenna and later manager of the hospitality gift shop/snack bar at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed knitting and skillfully supplied family, extended family and friends with her brilliant masterpieces. She loved to volunteer. She was even asked to run for council in Brady Lake, where she was very involved in the community.
She leaves to celebrate her life, legacy, and memory to her surviving family, son Joe Casamento, daughters, Michelle Casamento Profio, Carol Howald (Brian), Janet Casamento Stuehr (Eric, like a beloved son), thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. A loved aunt to many nieces and nephews and Godmother to several. Preceded in death by her husband Russell Joseph, son Rocky, daughter Kathy Casamento, grandson Jimmy Watson, and great-granddaughter, Addison Lee.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 25th at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.
