Mary Cleveland Fisher Prewitt's Obituary
Mary Cleveland Fisher Prewitt, age 87 of Nashville, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012. Mrs. Prewitt was born in Milldale, TN on May 11, 1925 to William Cleveland and Emily Fyke Fisher. Early in life, she worked as a teacher and later as a copy editor with Baird Ward Printing Co., though her most important job was being a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and cooking, and loved flowers and birds. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Donald Paul Prewitt, Sr. She is survived by her children, Donald Paul (Mary Ann) Prewitt, Jr., Charles Russell (Angie) Prewitt, Emily Prewitt (Derrell) Clem and Todd Fisher (Tonjia) Prewitt; grandchildren, Holly Prewitt Buchanan, Lisa Prewitt Felts, Donald Paul “Trey” Prewitt, III, Brooke Prewitt Vane, Russell Prewitt, Lucas Sean Clem, Jeremy Paul Clem, Christopher Michael Clem, Michele Watson, Cory Prewitt and Mitchell Prewitt; great-grandchildren, Eva Rose Buchanan, Lily Buchanan, Owen Felts, Adalyn Prewitt, Lottie Prewitt, Rhett Prewitt, Charlie Vane, Prewitt Vane, Abby Clem, Charlotte Clem, Mason Clem, Austin Watson and Caleb Watson. A celebration of Mrs. Prewitt’s life will be conducted at 2 P.M., Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Ray Handisides officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Tommy Crafton, Billy Crafton, Danny Fisher and Randy Fisher will be honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, November 12, 2012 and from 12 P.M. until 1 P.M. on Tuesday, prior to the service at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church at 3930 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216.
