Mary Ruth Curtis' Obituary
Mary Ruth Curtis of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Nashville on September 12, 1931, she was the beloved daughter of the late Henry Clyde and Charles Ruth Preuett. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bill Curtis.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Allen and Kathy Curtis; her sister, Anette Little; grandchildren, Ryan Curtis, Troy Allen, Wendy Minchey, Ray Ferguson, and Malia Proctor; great-grandchildren, Austin, Bethany, Will, Christina, Allison, Olivia, Dallas, and Sarah Mae; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.
Mary had a vibrant career in Public Relations with American General Life Insurance, which allowed her to travel extensively. She especially loved visiting Greece, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico. A passionate bowler, she competed in tournaments throughout her life and was known for her energetic spirit and zest for life. Mary was a true go-getter who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived fully.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Visitation with family and friends will take place on Thursday, July 24, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Friday from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.
