Mrs. Mary Brannon Davis' Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Brannon Davis passed away Saturday evening, August 8th, at the age of 96. Born June 28, 1919, in South Pittsburg, TN, she was the daughter of Etta Clyde Stephenson and Samuel Lewis Brannon. Preceded in death by husband Richard S. Davis, Sr. and one sister and three brothers. She is survived by her only son, Richard (Dick) S. Davis, Jr. (Ellen) and several nieces and nephews. She attended MTSU before joining the US Navy (Waves) during World War II and after basic training in New York City, was stationed in San Francisco. After the war Mary and Richard made their home in Donelson where she spent her career as school secretary for Stanford Elementary, Two Rivers Middle, and finally McGavock High School. She was a member of Donelson First Baptist Church and played piano for her Sunday School Class for over 20 years.
The family thanks the Staff of Mckendree Villiage Health Care Unit who were so kind and helpful during her last year.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service at Spring Hill from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015.
