Ms. Mary Ann Goodwin's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Ann Goodwin, age 84 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was born on March 25, 1937, in Lebanon, Tennessee to the late Brady and Nolie Marie Gattis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Goodwin, Sr., son Aubrey Burgess, Jr., brothers Brady Gattis, Billy Gattis, and sister-in-law Mary Lou Gattis. She is survived by her children Barbara Burgess, Pamela Redden (Don) and Benjamin Burgess (Cecile), sister Shirley Parrish (Gayle), sister-in-law Mary Frances Gattis, grandchildren Jordan Redden (Beki), Sydney Lewis (Lyndon), Cadence Burgess, and Kelvin Burgess, as well as great-grandchildren Isaak and Emerson Redden.
Mary Ann loved sunny days, planting beautiful flower gardens, and celebrating life. She was known for engaging others in conversation and never knew a stranger. She found joy in planning family and church dinners and events, including decorations and gifts. Much of her time and energy was spent caring for others, including her mother who passed away in 1977 and her husband Harold Goodwin who passed in 2005. Always a friend to the needy and elderly, she was devoted to improving their outlook and lives. Her generous heart and devotion to her church, family, children, and grandchildren will always be remembered.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Friday, October 29 at 2pm with the family receiving visitors one hour prior to the service.
