Mrs. Mary F. Hewitt's Obituary
MRS. MARY FRANCES HEWITT was born on April 5, 1935 to the late Mr. Harry Robertson and Jennie Robertson in Madison, Tennessee. She departed this life on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Mary Frances was predeceased by her nieces, Linda Ann Cheney and Cynthia Woods, aunt Bertha Shelton; her oldest sister Josephine Chandler and her youngest sister Joe Etta Lavendar and her cousin Joseph Walton, III.
Mary Frances was educated in the Davidson County public school system. She was united in marriage to Raymond Hewitt. Mary Frances accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and became a member of Mt Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the church, serving on the Usher Board, Willing Workers, Kitchen Staff, Choir Number 1, the Mass Choir and Voices of Calvary. She spent much of her time caring for children from the community and she enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone she loved.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Devoted husband Raymond Hewitt, daughter Jennie Cross, sons Ronnell (Carolyn)Burton, Donnell (Fannette) Burton, Grandsons, Samuel Robertson, Ronnell “Jr” (April) Bryant, Donnell Burton, Jr. and James Burton; granddaughters Raymonda Robertson, Michelle Bryant, Crystal Bryant, Tamika McMillian Brown, Shanelle Burton and Stephanie Davis. Great grandchildren LaDontez Bryant, Rhyanna Bryant and her Darling Raven Robertson. Nieces Corrine (Harry) Cook, Shelia Chandler, Jennifer (Timothy) Cole; Nephews Jeff (Margaret) Chandler, Raymond Chandler, Ricardo Chandler, Foster (Cindy) Chandler, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11 AM until 12 PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 1238 Briarville Rd, Madison, TN 37115 with the Celebration of Life Service starting at 12. Entombment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery at Serenity Chapel Mausoleum.
