Ruth always had a yearning to understand God’s Word, the Bible. Her first contact with Jehovah’s Witnesses came when Vercie Sharp knocked on her door. Ruth was absolutely thrilled when her questions were answered from God’s Word and she invited Vercie to come back and a Bible Study was started. Ruth moved from West Nashville to East Nashville where she attended the East Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses with her children. She continued to work to support her children at a pharmacy for over thirty years.
Ruth dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on June 6, 1963. She was a dedicated Christian and served Jehovah faithfully until her death on December 10, 2015. She had the privilege of serving Jehovah in the East, North, Madison, and Apple Valley Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She looked forward to the many blessings that Jehovah promised and that is what kept her going. A favorite scripture of hers was Isaiah 65:17 : “For look ! I am creating new heavens and new earth; and the former things will not be called to mind, nor will they come up into the heart.”
