Ms. Mary Jane Eagle Wright's Obituary
Mary Jane Eagle Wright, 92, of Old Hickory, Tennessee passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. Mary Jane was born on April 12, 1927 in Santa Ana, California to the late Robert Burton Eagle and Nellie Fern Lang.
Mary Jane was an amazing artist and seamstress with a wonderful sense of humor. Years ago she travelled with her family playing the piano in the Wright Messengers Gospel Group. She attended Inglewood United Methodist Church and recently had been attending City Road United Methodist Church as well.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Ray Edward Wright; her Aunt Lillian and Uncle Glenn Gordan who raised her following the death of her mother at age 5.
She is survived by her daughters Julia Ellen (Jon) Cravens and Judith Helen Wright; grandchildren Rik Edward (Misty) Nussmeyer, Daniel Irvin (Carrie) Nussmeyer, and Nellie Marie (Jeff) Snodgrass; great grandchildren Lillian, Lola, Nolan, Nyle, Austin and Layla.
Visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, 37216, on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from Noon until 2:00 PM at which time a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted from the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary Jane’s name to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
