Mrs. Marylyn Poteete Hayes' Obituary
Mrs. Marylyn Poteete Hayes, age 75, passed away July 10, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 10, 1941 in Nashville to the late Lexie A. and Ollie Mae Warf Poteete. Proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Dr. James T. Hayes, Jr., and brothers Lexie G. and Bobby Poteete. She is survived by her loving daughters Denise Hayes, Teresa Hartman (David), Lisa Borchers (Greg), Cheree Russell (David) and Kristie Bobal (Paul); brother, Loyd Poteete; grandchildren Chris LeMay (Stacey), Michael LeMay (Shirley), Melissa LeMay Gingerich (Jason), Eric Hartman, Cody Hartman, Austin Lucas, Kayli Lucas, Tyler Roberts (Sarah), Tanner Roberts and Brooke Borchers; great-grandchildren Brianna LeMay, Colbey LeMay, Chandler LeMay, Shyla Alderman, Caroline LeMay, Joshua David LeMay, Mikie, Sydney, Ava and Jaxson Gingerich; many nieces and nephews.
Marylyn and her family are the former owners of Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. They spent many years taking care of families during their time of need. She had a great sense of humor, was very creative, feisty, and full of life. She enjoyed listening to music and singing with the Christ Church choir. Her husband was a Methodist minister and they ministered to so many in our community. Together, they served The Lord through their work at Spring Hill Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Garry Speich and L.H. Hardwick officiating. Entombment will follow in the Spring Hill Mausoleum. Her grandsons and close friend, Bubba Cash will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday and Wednesday 2:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
