Mrs. Matilda M. Parker's Obituary
Matilda M. Parker, age 97, of Madison, Tennessee passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020. Matilda was born on December 23, 1922 in Carthage, Tennessee to the late John Silas Pope and Dexter Fisher.
Matilda enjoyed reading the bible and attending church. The last church she attended regularly was Grace Community Church. She always enjoyed activity time with her friends at Cumberland View Towers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Roy Lee Parker; a grandchild Brenna; and she was the last of 12 siblings.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Sue) Parker and Gary (Samantha) Parker; a daughter Kathy Johnson; grandchildren Joshua Lee Parker and Jim Rankin; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; former daughter-in-law Mary (Eddie) Cowley.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 4 PM till 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15 at 2 PM at the funeral home with David Long and Gerald Pryor officiating. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
