Melody Sue Furness, a beloved soul who graced this world with her laughter and kindness, passed away on June 12, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on July 9, 1963, to Woodrow Seiner, Jr. and Joann Smith Seiner, Melody brought joy to everyone she encountered.
Her infectious laughter echoed through gatherings, making her the life of every party. Melody’s heart overflowed with compassion, and she was known as the sweetest woman in the world. Her selflessness touched the lives of those around her, leaving an indelible mark.
Beyond her love for people, Melody had a green thumb and reveled in tending to her garden. The vibrant blooms she nurtured reflected her nurturing spirit. Whether it was a delicate rose or a hardy sunflower, Melody poured her love into every petal.
In her memory, let us celebrate the laughter, kindness, and selflessness that defined Melody Sue Furness. May her garden continue to bloom, and her legacy live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
In addition to her parents Woodrow and Joann, Melody is preceded in death by her stepmother Brenda Sue Seiner; siblings Woodrow “Woody” Seiner III, Cathy Barrett, Mike Phillips, and Freddy Phillips; and sister-in-law and best friend, Cissy Phillips. She is survived by her children Holly Marie Clem (Brandon), Kevin Leon Furness, Jr., and Joseph Keith Wilson Furness (Erika); grandchildren Jackson Clem, Kevin Leon Furness III, Annabel Furness, and Clayton Furness; brother Chris Seiner; sister Sheila Koger; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
The family invites guests and relatives for a time of remembrance on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, from 2:00 in the afternoon until 6:00 in the afternoon at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216. All are welcome.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, "Where Nashville Comes to Remember."
