I truly enjoyed working with Mike. Mike did an outstanding job helping people with their procurement needs. He also didn't hesitate to take extra time to help a colleague when they didn't know what to do. He was funny, thorough, and a true gem to work with. He will be greatly missed!
I am so incredibly sad to learn of this. Mike joined my team while I was working at TDOE. Always a firecracker if you got him going on something...lol Definitely one of the hardest working people I've had the privilege of working with. We would tease him about his junk food and we would talk about UT Knoxville football among other things. He loved giving me a hard time about our losing streak back then. I appreciated his willingness to learn new things and take on new challenges. He talked about Lindsey all the time, definitely his crown jewel. And if you really knew Mike you know he was a good person to talk mess with...haha I am so sorry and my deepest sympathy and prayers for Lindsey and the family. Mike was my employee for several years when I was the Fiscal Director at TNDOE. Lindsey, I used to keep color pencils in my drawer for you to come and sit in my office and color, then you came to work with your Dad. I loved your Dad. I will miss him. So sorry for your loss.
Mike was a fine and gracious gentleman. I greatly appreciated having the opportunity to work with him at the TN Dept of Education. He was dedicated, hardworking, and always went the second mile. A genuinely good person...
My thoughts and prayers are with Mike's daughter and dad and his two little babies. I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to know Mike. He was the procurement go-to guy at TDOE and helped show me the ropes 8 years ago. I would have been lost many times without his guidance. He kept me in tears with his banter. During the uncertain times when covid first hit, he was a true blessing that kept me sane. Knowing that I could call Mike anytime and have a friend on the line is treasured, and will most definitely be missed. Rest in peace, my buddy!

I worked with Mike for many years, and I considered him a friend. He was a hard worker and was always there to help despite how busy he was. He had a personality that was larger than life and a boldness that was unmatched. He always talked about his daughter, Lindsey and how proud he was of her and that she was always his biggest accomplishment.
He will truly be missed, not only as a co-worker, but also as a friend.
