Michael Roy Kirsh's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Michael Roy “Mike” Kirsh
July 2, 1953 – January 28, 2026
Mike was first and always a family man, and that is how we will remember him. He built his days around the people he loved, and each of us felt his steady care.
Born in Duluth, MN, Mike grew up with a clear sense of duty that led him to the United States Navy. From 1980 to 1984, he served as an FA aboard the USS Lynde McCormick, carrying the supportive and resilient spirit that would guide him through life.
In 1985 he joined Local 572 as a plumber and pipe fitter, staying on the job until 2017. His generous spirit showed in the way he mentored coworkers and made each project feel like a team effort.
He came home to build a life with his wife, Freida “Renee” Kirsh, and together they raised their sons, Charles “Doug” Meadows and Nathaniel “Nate” Meadows. Mike welcomed Jennifer Meadows and Caitlin Anderson into the family with the same open heart he showed everyone else.
Nothing lit up his face like his grandchildren: Taylor, Jayme Linn, Lilly, Kavionna, Haylee, Emmy, Addy, Elijah, and Brynlee. He cheered their wins, comforted their bumps, and made sure each one knew they were treasured.
Supportive, resilient, generous, loyal, and patient, Mike enjoyed sports, music, cooking, outdoor activities, travel, and games. He shared those interests freely, turning simple moments into memories we will keep.
After a long battle with cancer, Mike passed away in Hermitage, TN. He is reunited with his parents Lila and Max Kirsh, and his brothers Fred, Dale, Lyle, and Jerry, while his sister Sharon remains.
We will miss him every day, yet his love stays with us in the meals we cook, the songs we play, and the games we gather around. Rest easy, Mike; we will keep cheering, cooking, and laughing for you.
