Michael Ray Sanders, 40, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Born November 4, 1979 in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of Sharon Jenkins Sanders and the late Billy Ray Sanders.
Michael was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 572. He possessed a strong work ethic and was a hard worker. He had a big heart and was quick to help others. Family was important to Michael and he loved his dearly. He was an avid sports fan who loved the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed playing frisbee golf and traditional golf. Michael was a gun enthusiast, especially antique guns. He also enjoyed collecting knives and coins. He was also very knowledgeable when it came to animals, thanks to his love of the National Geographic channel.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Sanders; fiance Hunter Smith; sons Jordan Sanders and Tyler Holt; daughter Hailey Sanders; the mother of his children, Aisha Sanders; granddaughter Haven Nicole Ellis; maternal grandmother Nellie Jenkins; sister Allison Sanders; and his fur kids at home, Keeko LeRay and Bodhi RayLee.
The family has asked that donations be made to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery (615) 865-1101 in lieu of flowers.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Shrum officiating. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
