Mrs. Mildred Lucille Edgin Joyce's Obituary
Mildred Lucille Edgin Joyce, age 91, of Madison, Tennessee passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018. She was born on October 20, 1927 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Homer Edgin and Nora Wooters White.
Mildred graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1945 and was the class poet. She was a Christian and member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ. She was a loving, selfless mother who always put her family first. She was a patrol mother at Bellshire Elementary School and used the money she earned there to pay for piano lessons for her children. She loved gardening, flowers, and canning the vegetables that came from her garden. Mildred worked as an EKG Tech at General Hospital before moving to Bassett, Virginia and working for DuPont. She and her husband, John, would eventually move back to the area living in White House for 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John Porter Joyce, and her brother Earl White.
She is survived by four daughters, Rebecca (Rolland) Pack, Joanna (Geoffrey) Sikes, Geneva (Dana) Wright and Patricia (Bayron) Binkley; grandchildren, Suzanne (Efrain) Pack Marrero, John Pack, Paul Sikes, David Binkley, Chris Binkley, Laura Sikes, Danielle Wright, Dale (Allison) Binkley and Tara Wright ; great-grandchildren Jonathan Marrero, David Marrero, Lucy Marrero, Beau Binkley, Bear Ochoa, Rowan Binkley, and Jasper Ochoa; sister Geraldine (J.B.) Wheeler; Brothers Carl (Betty) White and Donald White.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Spring Hill Funeral Home 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee. A celebration of life funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Rolland Pack and Geoffrey Sikes officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Burial will take place on Thursday at 3:30 PM in the Palmer Shelter United Methodist Church Cemetery in Huntingdon, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Mildred's name to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, Tennessee, 37211.
