Nancy Faye Sere's Obituary
Nancy Faye Sere, age 80 of Nashville, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012. Mrs. Sere was born June 22, 1931 in Nashville, TN to James Ernest and Margaret Ward Hodges. She grew up in East Nashville and attended St. Cecilia Academy. A good hearted, Christian woman, Mrs. Sere was active in prayer groups and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and traveling, especially trips to the cabin on the Tennessee River. She worked in retail sales with Dillard’s and was an avid bridge player. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Melvin R. “Jack” Hudson and Robert Lourance “Bob” Sere. She is survived by her children, Melvin R. “Jack” Hudson, Jr., Linda Diane Hudson, Debbie Faye Winters and Michael Andrew Hudson; grandchildren, Kimberly Hudson, Amy Marie Roberts, Melinda “Lindy” Creppell, Heather Michelle Bennett, Jennifer Dawn Hood, Patrick Dylan Hare and Matthew Winters; six great-grandchildren and many friends. A funeral mass and celebration of Mrs. Sere’s life will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 29, 2012 from the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Tomy Joseph officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Spring Hill Funeral Home with a rosary service to be held at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions should be made to the American Cancer Society.
