Mr. Nolland F. Cottrell's Obituary
Nolland Fay Cottrell, 87, of Spring Hill, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016. He was born on a farm in Lawrence County, the son of the late Alvie and Addie Cottrell. He was preceded in death by his sister Pheba Robinson Hardison and his brother Morris Cottrell. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Beth Werner Cottrell, his daughters Julia Lamb and Jane Dotson (Randall), his granddaughters Jennifer Reier (Corey), Laura Lamb, and Natalie Dotson. Other survivors are his brother Bradley Cottrell (Sharon), nephew Jason Cottrell (Angela), and nieces Dale Sagona (Frank) and Suzanne Christensen (Jeff) as well as great-nepehw Jake Cottrell and great nieces Danica Sagona (John Walters), Katie Cottrell, Kenzie Cottrell, and Olivia Cottrell.
Nolland worked for 26 years at the downtown Sears store in Nashville where he was in sales and a department manager. He loved people and enjoyed his time working with his customers and staff members. He was a 50-year member of A & A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S. J. USA and of the Madison Masonic Lodge No. 762. He was a member of Bellshire United Methodist Church where for several years he taught a Sunday school class and served as chairman of the church council.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Rd., Nashville. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to NHC-Hillview for the love and care the staff gave Nolland. A special thank you goes to his buddy Richard.
