Mrs. Nona Mai Fleming's Obituary
Nona Mai Fleming, age 82 of Goodlettsville passed away July 18, 2014. Mrs. Fleming was a seamstress and an avid gardener who often had people stop and admire her beautiful flowers; she loved her dogs “Buster” and “Princess” and her church, Trinity Baptist Church in Hendersonville. A native of Macon County, Tennessee, she was born on January 21, 1932 to the late George M. Sanders and Mamie J. Sanders Reding. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Fleming; daughter, Sherry J. Byrd; granddaughter, Lisa M. Byrd; sister, Laverne M. Roland and brother, George “Junior” Sanders. She is survived by her son, Scottie Fleming; daughters, Patricia (Morris) Phillips and Diana Westmeyer; step-son, David Allen Fleming; grandchildren, Mark White, Michael D. White and Anthony Bruce Atchley; and great-grandchildren, Austin and Miranda White & Kya Bay and Brandon Atchley. A Celebration of Her Life will be conducted on Monday, July 21, 2014 from the Trinity Baptist Church, 840 Forest Retreat Road, Hendersonville, TN with Dr. Lloyd Byers and Dr. Lloyd Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, July 20th from 2-8 P.M. at Spring Hill Funeral Home and on Monday, July 21st from 12-1 P.M. at Trinity Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 840 Forest Retreat Road, Hendersonville, TN 37075 or to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
