Mr. Norval Moss Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Norval Moss, Sr., 87, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his residence in Portland, TN.
The Williamson County native was the son of the late Thomas Ebb and Bertie Lee Holland Moss and the widower of Audrey Mai Jones Moss. He was affiliated with Avco on Vultee Boulevard during the World War II era and for many years managed Maplewood Foodtown. He was a member of the Baptist faith having preached and engaged in leading gospel singings all throughout the Portland area. He was a jack of all trades and loved to vacation in Florida or Gatlinburg. Mr. Moss was a people person, he had a great influence on many people during his life with his love for family, his church activities, and his job.
He is survived by two daughters, Wanda (Charles) Seals and Donna Murphy; two sons, Ronnie Moss and Randy Moss; a sister, Louise Guy; two brothers, Ray Moss and Wayne (Beverly) Moss; eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Monday, May 19, 2014 at 2:00PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Flatt officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 2:00 until 8:00PM and Monday from 11:00AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice
