Ms. Opal Ruth Hunt's Obituary
Opal Ruth Hunt of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020, one day after her 86th birthday. Born September 25, 1934 in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Thurman Denson and Martha Binkley Earp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson James ‘Jimmy’ Moran, Jr.
She is survived by three daughters Virginia (Lester) Long, Cathy (Ray) Church, and Kaye Copeland; son Sam (Linda) Hunt; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
Opal had retired from TN Electric Motor Company after 53 years of service. She was a stereotypical redhead, an energetic fireball. She was an avid sports fan and fully adopted the Tennessee Titans when they came to Nashville. Opal was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be missed dearly.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 2 PM in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville. The family will receive friends and visitors an hour prior at the funeral home.
