Mr. Orris Goodman's Obituary
Orris Goodman, age 90 of Madison, passed away on March 2, 2019. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Goodman and his brother, Gene Goodman. He is survived by his children James Goodman, Thomas Goodman, Melissa Goodman-Chang (Bernard), and John Goodman (Cindy); grandchildren Ross Goodman, Brooke Goodman, Arabella Chang, and Sean Goodman.
Orris Goodman, a graduate of Vanderbilt university and known affectionately by some as “Boots” or “Oogie” was a loving, caring, gentleman who was endlessly devoted to his family. He cared for his wife of 63 years and enjoying spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially Arabella with whom he grew very close after living in their home for three years. He played baseball from his youth, all the way through college at Vanderbilt, and was a fan of the sport his whole life. He also loved good barbecue and was an avid “fix-it” man, even acting as contractor on the construction of his own home.
A cryptside service will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 1pm at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior from noon to 12:45 at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
