Baby Orson Udell Pineda Knies' Obituary
Baby Orson Udell Pineda Knies was born directly into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Centennial Women’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He is survived by his parents Dimple Jeanette Knies De Pineda and Franklin Abdemaro Pineda Morataya, siblings Adela Feliciano Knies, Elcy Feliciano Knies, Ian Miguel Barrera Knies, Lucas Raúl García Knies, and Tobi Elías García Knies.
Orson, whose name means “bear cub” was deeply loved by his family, and we are saddened to announce his passing. We mourn the things that could have been, and we grieve the loss of the opportunity to get to know who Orson would have become. We will never see the brightness of his smile, hear his first cry, first laugh, or first word. We will never be able to celebrate when he learns to crawl, walk, or reach other milestones. We ask ourselves if Orson would have had beautiful dark curls like his father or fair blonde locks like his mother, or how he would have arrived as a full-term baby. We will always long to kiss his warm cheeks, hold his tiny hands, and tickle his soft baby toes.
With Orson’s Down syndrome diagnosis, we worried about how to provide a loving environment for him to grow, and we wondered if he would learn to drive, to work, if he would graduate high school, or if he would successfully finish college. Despite those challenges, we were committed to loving and supporting him in whatever way necessary. Our prayers were for Orson to have a heart for serving and living for God. Now he always will.
We believe that God took Orson before we were ready because He did not want Orson to suffer here on Earth, as Orson was diagnosed with a heart defect that would have required major surgery in the first few months of life. We take comfort in the certain hope that we will one day see our Bear Cub again in heaven, and we will hold him in our hearts until that day.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made via Venmo at @JeanetteKnies5 to assist Orson’s family with any expenses they have incurred throughout this process.
A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday May 19, 2023 at 12pm in the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home, with the family receiving visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville.
