Patricia Williams
When Pat and I lived next door to each other, her cat had a litter of kittens and I adopted the beautiful black and white "runt" of the litter. My late husband Ray helped me to name him "Kato" who was named after Bruce Lee who played the driver for the TV series "the Green Hornet" back in the 60's. Well, My daughter Ginny and Christy grew up together and were inseparable. Ray was a strong father figure for both of our children. Anyway, I had a cat tree by the back door and Ginny and Christy used to taught Kato and make him mad--until he literally "barked" at them. They did this every chance they got. Well--since Kato father is Siamese ( a breed of cat that NEVER forgets) Kato turned into the "Kung-Fu Kato. One day Pat came over and stood by the back door and we were talking. Just before she turned to go out the door---Kato takes off running down the hallway--at lightening speed---runs into the kitchen----and runs STRAIGHT UP PAT-- and runs back down the hallway. I'll never forget the look on Pat's face. It scared the living daylights out of her!! If she were a cat---she would have lost about 2 of the 9 lives that day! I miss her--but she will live on in my memories as long as I'm alive. Pat--get your coffee cup ready because before the blink of an eye we'll be sitting across from each other laughing about all those crazy days on South 8th.
