Memorial Services will be held Friday, October 21, 2016 at 3pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville for Patricia Ann Besch, age 77, who passed away October 14, 2016 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. She was a resident of Hendersonville for the past 16yrs.
Born July 29, 1939 in Madisonville, TN she was the loving daughter of Ken and June Greenwood.
Ann earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from Hiwassee College in Madisonville in 1959. She was married and a homemaker for 13yrs after that and had 3 children during that time. Ann then worked as a medical transcriptionist for nearly 16 years, but earned her paralegal degree at age 48 and worked as a paralegal for several years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed taking care of babies and infants in the church nursery at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Goodlettsville after her retirement. Most of all, though, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
As a very beautiful and creative soul, Ann had a great passion for painting and drawing and enjoyed writing short stories and poetry. She had a very sweet, friendly, easy-going personality and was a loyal friend to all with whom she came in contact. Ann was well known among family and friends for her beautiful singing voice, as a polished soprano. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in both Crossville and Hendersonville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents Othar Kenneth Greenwood and June Estelle Greenwood (Moore).
Ann is survived by her daughter Patricia Kim Khalil of Hendersonville; her sons Richard A. Besch and his wife Alison of Huntsville, AL and Kenneth A. Besch of Hendersonville; her sisters Judy Greenwood and her husband Jack Hale of Kingston Springs, TN and Jerry Bledsoe and her husband Phillip of Loudon, TN; her grandchildren Lisa Khalil of Nashville, Christian Besch and Ellen Besch both of Huntsville, AL. She is also survived by her uncle Leonard Greenwood and his wife Jonnie of Frostproof, FL; her aunts Jane Moore of Sweetwater, TN and Irene Norman of Knoxville, TN, as well as her two nieces Vanessa Petrey of Frankfort, KY and Stella (Buffy) Jones of Ozark, AL.
Arrangements are under the direction of Spring Hill Funeral Home where friends may visit on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 1pm to 3pm, with many of Ann's favorite foods served afterwards, since she had asked that any time spent in memory of her be "in celebration of a life well lived."
She will certainly be missed by all who knew her.
Because she wanted to be a force in research efforts toward the prevention and cure of Parkinson's Disease, Ann & her family ask that in lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions be made in her name to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
