Patricia Anne James Proctor's Obituary
Patricia Anne James Proctor, 91, originally of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on September 3, 2023. Born March 8, 1932, in Old Hickory, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late George Ben James, Sr. and Ola Mae Latham James.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons Joseph Burton Proctor, and David Lee Proctor; sisters Joyce James Smith, and Carole James Garretson.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Lisa Jayne Proctor, grandson Ian T. (Jamie) Cummings; great grandchildren Davis G. Cummings, River J. Cummings, and Stella L. Cummings; brother George Ben (Beverly) James, Jr.; and three nieces, and three nephews.
Patricia graduated valedictorian of the 1950 class of Goodlettsville High School, was a devoted wife and mother, and a member of Slaters Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She opened her heart and home to her children’s friends, and became a second mother to many of them.
Patricia became a regional retail manager for a health and nutrition company during the 1970’s, and relocated to Florida to live and work for 27 years. After retiring from retail, she became an expert dealer in vintage linens and glassware, and became well-known in Florida. She moved back home to Tennessee in 2007 to reunite with family, and settle into retirement. She was a compassionate, independent, trail blazing woman; full of energy, life, stories, and love for everyone. Her beautiful smile, and warm heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her undying love for her departed rescue dog, Boogie, created her passion for all animals in need. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nashville Humane Association, or an animal rescue organization of choice.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at one o'clock in the afternoon at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Those who wish to attend are advised to meet at Spring Hill Funeral Home and twelve thirty in the afternoon, and will follow our staff in procession to Ms. Proctor's final resting place.
Arrangements for Ms. Proctor are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, "Where Nashville Comes to Remember."
