Mrs. Patricia K. "Patty" Rogers' Obituary
Patricia Katherine “Patty” Rogers, age 67, passed away on August 19, 2015. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on August 26, 1947 to the late Wilburn and Ann Sawyers. Patty was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend to many.
Patty was born into a large family and grew up with eight siblings. The sisters all shared a special bond, each one feeling as though they were best friend to the other.
Patty was an accomplished seamstress as well. She lovingly made clothes, curtains, and other hand-made items for her sisters…and continued to sew all through her life. In addition to making clothes for her family, she also made costumes for Christmas and Easter plays at Liberty Baptist Church, where she was a member.
Patty liked to write, and sometimes expressed herself better in writing than in spoken words. She also loved to plant flowers in pots on her porch and take advantage of sunshine whenever she could.
In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Adams and Randy Sawyers.
She is survived by her daughter, Kellie Rogers; siblings, Danny Sawyers (Lois), Tommy Sawyers (Paulette), Carole Mills (Jerry), Gail Corbett, Johnny Sawyers (Jan), and Becky Bohanan (Tim); as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Patty’s family will receive friends and visitors on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 10:00am until 11:00am. Pastor D.J. Shoulders will lead a Memorial Serive to honor Patty at 11:00am on the same day.
