Ms. Patsy R. Duke's Obituary
Patsy Ruth Duke, age 82, slipped into eternity on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. She is now living in the promise of eternal life given to her by placing her faith in Jesus Christ. She is enjoying all that heaven has in store for her and we rejoice in her homegoing.
Miss Duke taught 6th grade students until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and artwork in her spare time. She and her lifelong friend, Fredericka enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and the world together. Patsy had a great sense of humor and enjoyed seeing her friends smile. She taught Sunday School in her home and was a member of the Rivergate Church of Christ. She cherished the life that she had been blessed with.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Robert and Minnie (Hall) Duke.
Patsy is survived by her life-long friend, Fredericka Ferrell and many friends that attended church with her at the Rivergate Church of Christ.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 1 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home (5110 Gallatin Road Nashville, TN 37216). Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 11 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will include Billy Ferrell, Jonathan Ferrell, Doug Tooley, Dennis Wright and Martin Rothchild. Serving as honorary pallbearers will include Edna Champeau, Rose McCann, Mary Harris, Louise Bridges, Wanda Sweeton, Gale Harris, Robert & Pat Durham, Walter & Martha Brown, Dr. Nigar Enayat and Bobby & Ann McElhiney.
