Pete "H.L." Shirley's Obituary
Pete “H.L.” Shirley, 66, of White House, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Otto Shirley, grandparents, Harry and Effie Johnson, a sister, Bonnie Sullivan.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Becky M. Shirley, a daughter, Stacey Old (Kevin), a son, Justin Shirley, two grandchildren, Jackson Old and Lincoln Old, a sister, Jodi Shelton, a brother, Peanut Shirley (Pam), numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and Ellie Mae Shirley, his beloved fur baby.
In September of 1993, Pete started out a small business by the name of Drain Doctor LLC. That business may have started small and in a basement, but it grew into one of the most successful drain cleaning businesses around Nashville.
Pete is an avid NASCAR fan cheering on his all-time favorite driver, Mark Martin. He enjoyed traveling to many of the racetracks and forming many of the best lifelong friends. He loved to play poker so much he played weekly. He taught his children and grandchildren how to enjoy his hobby of card playing.
One of his enjoyments was spending time outside tending to his lawn and pool. The pool was a place where the grandchildren and friends could come and gather to enjoy time together.
He was always caring for others. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone.
Pete will be deeply missed by his family and his friends.
