Eaton, Priscilla Elaine Harrell, of Nashville, TN, died on Wednesday, November 09, 2022 at her son’s home surrounded by her loving family. She was 79. Priscilla was born in Cleveland Ohio on April 07, 1943 to Susie Pearl Harrell and Henry Harrell. Priscilla graduated from Pearl High School and attended Tennessee State University. She returned to Cleveland Ohio and worked at General Electric Corporation for over 15 years. Priscilla proudly served in the United States Army National Guard in Nashville, TN working in the supply field and retired in 1996 as a Master Sergeant. While serving in the National Guard, Priscilla met and married her late husband Larry Eaton, who preceded her in death in August 2015. They both loved to travel via motorcycle and were members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Once retired from the military, Priscilla began working as a Notary Public and in the field of Real Estate. She stressed the importance of home ownership by providing information and opportunities to those who would not necessarily consider purchasing a home.
Heavily involved in the community, Priscilla’s civic activities included: Past President, Maxwell Area Neighborhood Association; Served on the steering committee with R/UDAT, and as neighborhood representative with Re!Discover East; Community volunteer with Ross Elementary School for ten years; Served as a board member for Circle Players of Nashville; Priscilla lobbied and received a Community Development Block grant for $550,000 for improvements in the Maxwell Heights neighborhood; and worked as a election poll worker for many years. In 2011, Priscilla campaigned to become Council Member for the Metro Council District 5. Her wonderful personality, smile and dimples would light up any room. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her brother Henry B. Harrell. Priscilla is survived by her only child, Mark Steven Harrell Sr. (Chermaine), grandson Mark Jr., granddaughters Brittney (Dwayne), Mariah, Tanisha, Ce’Aira (Philip), Jalyn, Nicole, and Vanessa; Sister, Sarah Harrell Chapman (Frederick M. II) nieces, Shantel, Latia, Jean, Meshawn, nephew Frederick M. III, and a host of great grandchildren, great grandnieces, great grandnephews, God children relatives and friends. A gathering with family will occur on November 22 from 4 - 8pm and Priscilla’s memorial service will occur on November 23, at 12pm.
