Mrs. Rachel Demonbreun's Obituary
Rachel Demonbreun, age 84, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away Monday, November 26, 2018, in Greenwood, South Carolina. She was born February 12, 1934 in Belleville, Tennessee to the late James Harrison Armstrong and Margaret Elsie Swing. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clarence Arnold Demonbreun, Jr; a sister, Jean Bates; a brother, Max Armstrong; and a grandson, Michael Paul Genson. Rachel was a retired customer service supervisor for BellSouth. She was a longtime member of Inglewood Baptist Church where she faithfully taught Sunday school for the Winners Class. She considered her Sunday School Class to be her extended family. Rachel loved gardening and always made sure the birds were fed with her many bird feeders.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Demonbreun (Jeff) Genson; son, Clarence Arnold “Trey”(Carolyn) Demonbreun III; grandchildren, Ryan Genson, Lauren (Justin) Sunday and William Demonbreun; great-grandchildren, Murphy Genson and Claire Sunday; sisters Linda (Wayne) Taylor and Marilyn (Jack) Whitaker; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Shrum officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith Haas, Justin Sunday, Ryan Genson, and Jeff Genson. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
