Rachel Lance's Obituary
LANCE, Rachel R. A resident of Inglewood for 51 years passed away September 4, 2010 at the age of 80. Mrs. Lance was an active member of City Road Chapel UMC, where she was a member of the M. Foster Sunday School Class, serving as president and secretary. She was formerly the co-cashier for the Wednesday night fellowship supper. She was retired from the former Haywood Company where she was Piece Goods Purchasing Manager. She was a member of the Music City Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club, and she and her late husband were avid Hallmark ornament collectors. They also enjoyed travelling and travelled to 5 continents and to 49 states. Mrs. Lance was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Lonnie A. Lance, who died August 8, 2005. She is survived by her loving, caring, and supportive step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Linda R. Lance, her devoted and precious granddaughter Annette Larkin and her great husband Roger, and her special great-grandson, Lance Larkin; her loving brother, Daniel E. Riggins and his wife Nikki, of Clarksville, special friend, Katherine Buchanan, and a caring church family. A celebration of life service will be held at City Road Chapel UMC, Gallatin Road at Neelys Bend, on Sunday September 12, at 2:30 PM conducted by Dr. Ron Lowery. Visitation with the family and a reception will follow in the fellowship center. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lupus Foundation, 400 Hillsboro Pike Suite 216-B, Nashville, TN 37215 or the City Road Chapel Memorial Fund. Private entombment will be in Spring Hill's Serenity Chapel Mausoleum where she will be entombed in the crypt with her late husband, as he wished.
