Ralph and my brother, Thurman Willett, went to Parkway HS together and were friends with the same group, ie...Don Weber, Paul Des Champ, and Gene Malden. They remained friends after high school, some went to college, and several went to Vietnam. In the middle 60's Ralph rented a room in our basement in Brentwood and brought his drums with him. I remember the practice sessions, he gave lessons to students and played in clubs around St Louis County...and then Vietnam happened...marriage and I lost contact with Ralph when he and his bride moved to Nashville. It wasn't until a few years ago that I found him on facebook. So much had happened to the group of young men that met at our house in the mid 60's. I will miss you Ralph, you passed away one month after my brother Thurman, and many years after Gene. If there is a heaven, I hope the 3 of you are together, laughing and sharing your stories. I miss you.

Ralph was a wonderful man who lived life to its fullest and did it in various ways as he walked his path in life. He was exceptionally talented, insightful and courageous. He always stood on the side of right when it came to veterans and gave everything he had to fix poor treatment of veterans and to honor those who walked through the valley of death to keep America free. Those who tried to scam veterans faced Ralph's wrath and ultimately backed away into the shadows. His life of service to the community and America is hard to exceed but nothing would warm your heart more than his knowing smile or one of his inside stories. Rest in peace my brother, your mission complete. You are not forgotten! Bulldog

Ralph and l played music soon after his departure from the Jones Boys. He was a good friend and invited me to his home in Tennessee several time although I didn’t get a opportunity to go. I will miss Ralph and as we had a lot of fun times.

Ralph was a fine man, who was devoted to giving back to fellow military veterans. An excellent drummer he was a Life Member of AFM Local 257. We are all grateful for all he gave to us, including leading local military veterans, in the annual Veterans Day Parade in Nashville.

I knew Ralph from the music days and was proud to serve with him as Vice President of Chapter 953. He was a leader and a friend. Ralph contributed more to the Vietnam veterans than any other individual in Nashville. I will miss him as our president and our social time together. Rest in Peace dear warrior brother.
