Mr. Raphael Martinez Velasquez, a beloved family man and a pillar of strength, passed away on March 21st, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Antonio Espinosa Velasquez and Otilla Martinez Velasquez, Raphael’s life was a testament to resilience, humility, and unwavering dedication.
Raphael’s journey was marked by hard work, sacrifice, and a heart of gold. For many years, he served faithfully at DuPont, contributing to the community and leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him. His unwavering commitment to his work and family exemplified the values he held dear. Throughout anything, he carried himself with grace and integrity.
As a Sergeant in the United States Army, Raphael demonstrated courage and honor. His service to the nation was a reflection of his deep-rooted patriotism and love for his country.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Raphael had a zest for life. He loved to travel, exploring new horizons and creating cherished memories with his loved ones. His passion for old-school country music and the nostalgic tunes of the '50s filled his days with joy. And through it all, his unwavering love for his late wife, Linda, remained a constant. Their 46-year marriage was a testament to enduring love and companionship.
Raphael Martinez Velasquez leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family. His memory will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, let us celebrate a life well-lived and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Tyra Velasquez Hunt and Dina Pardue (Kim Dahoney); grandson Kristian Hunt; siblings John Velasquez, Joe McCarthy, Phillip Romero, Dan Velasquez, and Anna Foster; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
The family cordially invites guests and relatives for a time of visitation on Monday, March 25th, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, with the service and burial to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216.
Final arrangements for Mr. Velasquez are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
