Mr. Ray Woodall's Obituary
Ray Guill Woodall, 87, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. He was born in Old Hickory, TN on June 30, 1933 the son of Willie and Lola (Dixon) Woodall both of whom preceded him in death.
Ray served his country proudly in the United States Army earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a huge baseball fan and loved watching the Atlanta Braves and in recent years the St. Louis Cardinals. Ray was heavily involved in his community as he was a well known referee throughout middle Tennessee refereeing baseball and basketball for many, many years. Ray loved telling the history of his family as he loved doing genealogy in his free time as he was very proud of where he came from and proud of his heritage. Ray also loved sitting down and relaxing while watching the Andy Griffith show. Ray will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all of those he has served in middle Tennessee.
Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years Peggy Woodall; daughter Alese Corbitt; (Bobby) son Scott Woodall (Stephanie); grandchildren Dara Gregory, Casey Woodall, Makenzie Woodall; great grandchildren Kenadie and Kayden. He is also survived by his brother Bobby Woodall (Yvonne) and a step granddaughter Alexis Ransom.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Copas, Joe, George, Doug, Elizabeth, Billy, Susie and James Earl.
Ray’s visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 4 PM-8 PM at the Spring Hill Funeral Home at 5110 Gallatin Pike South, Nashville, TN 37216. There will also be a visitation from 9 AM-10 AM on Friday with Ray’s funeral ceremony immediately following at 10 AM. Burial will take place in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
