Mr. Raymond Jewell Thomas' Obituary
Raymond Jewell Thomas of Mount Juliet, TN passed away on December 11, 2016 in Madison, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil V. Thomas, Stacia Mae Patton Thomas; son, Kelly Thomas; infant daughter, Nancy Thomas; and brother, Gerald Thomas.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Nancye Hamilton Thomas; daughter, Laura (Bill) Barrow; sisters, Virginia Thomas, Mary Katherine Webster; and his loving dog, Lucy.
Raymond was an amazing man who served our country in the armed forces for 24 years. He served during WWII in Gereral Patton’s third army and was part of the Liberation of Norway. Raymond was in the American Legion (Post 5 ;) also a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge (#45) for 60 Years. He graduated from Lambuth University with a bachelors in History. Raymond was a Boy Scout leader and avid Boston Red Sox Fan. He worked as an insurance Claims Adjuster for 42 years. Raymond loved golfing, framing, and painting. He was a man of many talents and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life Graveside service with military honors will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Nashville, TN. Celebration will take place on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 2pm.
