Reba Ann Trotman Kent's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Reba Ann Trotman Kent on December 12th, 2022 in Hermitage, Tennessee. She was born to Joseph Abbott Trotman and Vera Storey Trotman on April 9th, 1933 in Decatur, Alabama.
Reba was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a graduate of East Nashville High School. She was a member of Inglewood Baptist Church as well as the Order of the Eastern Star, Jere Baxter Chapter #343, and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She also served as a Patrol Mother with the Metropolitan Police Department for over 10 years.
Reba was a shining star in the lives of all who knew her, and her presence will be missed.
In addition to her parents, Reba was preceded in death by her loving husband Howard Kent, their son Howard Alan Kent, and brother Joe E. Trotman, Sr.
She is survived by her daughters Claudia (John) Kent Whitaker and Annette Kent; son David (Lori) Kent; grandchildren Austin (Rachel) Whitaker, M.D., Whitney (Bryan) Mahan, and Chase Fehland; great-grandchildren Anderson Whitaker and Caroline Whitaker; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
The family will receive guests for visitation at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Friday, December 16th, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Spring Hill Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Reverend Bill Jones will be presiding over the services.
