Rebecca Jewell Olinger's Obituary
Rebecca Jewell Olinger, 74, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023. Born December 10, 1948, in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late William George Olinger and Jewell Deason Olinger.
In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her sister Betty Jean Stromatt; brother-in-law Harold Gregory, Sr.
She is survived by her daughters Cara (Orlandus) Majors and Marcy (Beau) Corder; sister Shirley Gregory; brother Jim (Martha) Olinger; grandchildren Peyton (Patrick) Hunley Cooper, Brock Corder, and Bryce Corder; great grandchildren Case and Cole Cooper; former son-in-law Randall Hunley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Becky retired from the Tennessee Department of Revenue where she had been a tax clerk for 30 years. She was a faithful member of Grace Church of the Nazarene where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School in the children’s department. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be remembered for her loving ways and excellent sense of humor.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville from 5 pm until 7 pm. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Jonathan Trees will take place on Thursday, February 9 at 2 pm at the funeral home. There will be visitation from 12 pm until 2 pm on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Stromatt, Michael Arwood, Tim Stromatt, Kenny Starks, Alex Starks and Michael Stromatt. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Starks, Jamie Stromatt, Brian Arwood and Nick Olinger.
