Mrs. Reggie Lee Roney's Obituary
Reggie Lee Roney, 98, of Smiths Grove, Ky, (formerly of Madison, TN) died on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Born May 6, 1924, in Dresden, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Billingsby and Ida Mae Crosser Billingsby.
Mrs. Roney was a longtime member of the Madison Church of Christ. She worked for E.C. Chance Realty and Hunts Memorials in the Madison area. During World War II she was a military wife and lived all over the United States with her husband, Dan. She loved being outside gardening and enjoyed a good crossword puzzle. She was also an animal lover who owned 4 dachshunds, all named Heidi.
In addition to her parents, Reggie was preceded in death by her husband Dan W. Roney; sisters Polly Walker, Anne Lou Killebrew Story, and Sue Harper; brothers Flavil Billingsby, Howard Billingsby, Dink Billingsby, and John Billingsby; daughter-in-law Pamela Roney.
She is survived by sons Don Roney and Steve (Kathy) Roney; grandchildren Shannon (Patrick) Shirey, Joshua (Scarlett) Roney, and Nathan (Emily) Roney; great grandchildren Jackson Roney, Lane Roney, Noah Roney, and Taylor Roney.
Visitation will take place at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville on Tuesday, March 28 from 11 am until 1 pm. A graveside service conducted by David Harper will follow on the grounds of the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
