Richard And Jeanne Nash
I met "Bear" as he was affectionately nicknamed in the early days at Georgia State University. We were in the Master's Program, in class, and in Underground Atlanta and other hot spots in the 70's. Weekends were spent in the outdoors, north Georgia Mountains, camping, shooting the rapids in the headquarters of the Chattahoochee River and, of course, deer hunting. Bear taught me the ropes and had me believing that it was fun to be freezing one's buns off in a tree in the dark waiting for the sun to come up so one could find his way back to the warm cabin and a hot toddy. He was right as usual...it was fun. We could go on forever on our friendship...visiting us in Hawaii while we were stationed there, taking care of our pets while we transitioned back to the states, having us stay with Ellen and him when we dodged the Florida hurricane, offering to bring his truck and help if we had any serious damage. He was always ready to help, always contributing positively to any situation. We remained life-long friends and we are missing him. We loved Bear and love you, Ellen. Sorry I cannot travel just yet but we are with you in spirit. Consolation for all of us is he is no longer in pain and in a far better place. I know he will be there to greet us when we cross Rainbow Bridge.
