Mr. Richard "Dick" Anderson Hooper Jr.'s Obituary
Richard A. “Dick” Hooper, Jr., age 78 of Madison was born May 9, 1936 and passed away September 3, 2014. The only child of the late Richard A. and Monnie Vines Hooper, Sr. of Bessemer, AL. He attended Marion Military Institute, graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor’s Degree. He was married in 1955 to Dorothy Dunlap Hooper in 1955 and worked for Nabisco Foods retiring with 30 years of service. For the next 20 years Dick worked at The Hermitage. Dick loved to travel with family and friends; his favorite place to go was out west for the Rodeo Days in Cody, WY. Dick is preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Dot. Survived by his children, David (Rosemarie) Hooper, Kathy (Dewey) Presley, ,John (Kathy) Hooper and Jim (Becky) Hooper; grandchildren, Jeremy (Ann Multhauf) Joshua Rutledge, Adam (Heather) Hooper, Andy (Christina) Hooper, Michael Hooper, Sophie Hooper; and great-grandchildren, Madison Hooper, Aiden Rutledge, Jacob Hooper and Evie Hooper. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Voorhees officiating. Entombment will follow in Spring Hill’s Serenity Mausoleum. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, September 5th from 4-8 P.M. and Saturday one hour prior to the service.
